Dreams, desires, fantasies, needs, wants…. are a never-ending conundrum. There is no end to it, a fulfilment of one give rise to hundreds of others. Some are fuelled by societal norms, some by family, some by peers, some by fantasies ingrained by dramas and movies.
These are fallacies of life which have nothing to with reality. “Dreams” are nothing but figment of imagination, a desire fuelled by current circumstances. They get added, deleted, modified by events.. interactions… emotions and circumstances that a person is undergoing at that point in time.
Usually, we hear the wise men and women say that “hope” is what keeps us going, so don’t lose “hope” but “hope” for what?
Have we ever thought what is it that we are hoping for and even if we know what steps are we taking to get the hope converted to an action to achieve what we wanted. Most of us just day dream, live out our fantasies in movies and dramas, cry silent tears and move on with life.
It is easy to say, to “start living and stop existing” but the reality is that all of us are just existing. We are trudging and toiling and surviving each day because there is nothing else that we can do. We take comfort in a routine and just follow it. We get up each day, either go to school/ work, have 3 meals daily, tidy the house and go off to sleep. This cycle repeats itself everyday until there is a disruption whether positive or negative and then again the routine takes precedence and life continues.
As life progresses, reality supersedes the fantasies and we realize that nothing will change and what is happening for so many years will continue to do so. People will change, health will deteriorate, movies and dramas will lose their charm and desires will dissipate. That my friend is “life”. No one can control it, nor change its course. Our decisions are influenced by circumstances which are an outcome of fate or karma on which we have no control. Decisions are actions taken point in time which cannot be reversed and those decisions keep coming to haunt us till we take our last breath.
There is no point crying over spilt milk, nothing will change so there isn’t any option but to accept it. Because if we don’t, how would we survive. The day we as humans understand that “Life” is to be accepted as is, is the day our dreams will die and we will be at peace.
The routine will help us in surviving and then one day unknown to us, it will all be over.
So, ladies and gentlemen, guys and girls… accept life the way it is, accept yourself with all your flaws, no one is perfect and neither are you…. live your fantasies through movies and dramas… smile even if it hurts….dont think about future as you have no control over it.
Stop dreaming, don’t hope for a change and just focus on living………………
